Comments on the workings information

  • THE MINE WAS ORIGINALLY WORKED IN THE 1880'S AND APPARENTLY AGAIN ON A SMALL SCALE 1939-1941. WORKINGS CONSIST OF A TUNNEL, SHAFT, DRIFTS, PROSPECT PITS, AND TRENCHES WHICH EXPLORE A NORTHWEST-TRENDING QUARTZ VEIN IN MESOZOIC METAVOLCANICS. THE VEIN CAN BE TRACED ON THE SURFACE FOR OVER 4,000 FEET, AVE WIDTH, 5 FEET (BONHAM, P 89). OVERTON, P 81, REPORTS THAT THERE ARE TWO, PARALLEL VEINS, THE MARS AND THE HOMESTAKE, ON THE PROPERTY.
