Deposit VEIN, FAULT ZONE (SILVER CITY FAULT, COMET FAULT, HAYWOOD-OEST FAULT) OREBODY IS NEAR JUNCTION OF TWO VEINS.
Deposit THIS MINE WAS PART OF THE DAYTON MINE PROPERTY AND WAS LOCATED ON THE FOOTWALL OF THE SILVER CITY BRANCH OF THE COMSTOCK LODE. THE DAYTON MINE PURCHASED IT IN 1943. THE OEST MINING COMPANY SANK A 300 FT SHAFT AND RECORDED A PRODUCTION FROM 1887-1892 OF $564,364 FROM 6,588 TONS, OR $85/TON. THE MINERALIZED ZONE IS FROM 40 TO 150 FT WIDE AND CONTAINS SMALL LENSES OF HIGH-GRADE GOLD ORE. THE DAYTON MINED 450 TONS OF $10 ORE. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT
