Deposit WORKINGS TOTAL - 500 FEET CHAMPION MINE, AN EARLY C(1870) LOCATION IN THE DIAMOND DISTRICT (WHEELER, 1872). THE ORE IS ARGENTIFEROUS GALENA IN VEINS THAT TREND N-S (IGID). A SMELTER WAS ERECTED AT THIS MINE, WHICH WAS THE PRINCIPAL PROPERTY, IN 1873; A SMALL AMOUNT OF BULLION WAS PRODUCED, WITH THE DISTRICT BEING ABANDONED SHORTLY THEREAFTER, (LINCOLN, 1923). THE ORE OCCURS AS POCKETS AND BUNCHES IN VEINS IN LS. SOME FC & SB PRESENT WITH PB CARBONATE (IGID). ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT
