Deposit COPPER MINERALIZATION ASSOCIATED WITH DIORITE DIKE WHICH IS IN A FAULT ZONE. COUNTRY ROCK ALSO DIORITE. WIDE-SPREAD COPPER OXIDES.; MODEL NAME COULD ALSO BE: KUROKO MASSIVE SULFIDE.
Deposit OWNED IN 1960'S BY F.W. ROBERTS; EXPLORED BY SEVERAL SURFACE CUTS AND TWO SHALLOW UNDERGROUND WORKINGS. THE USBM DEVELOPED THE PROPERTY BY DIAMOND-DRILLING 7 HOLES IN THE SHEAR ZONE ADJACENT TO THE FAULT. THE PROPERTY WAS PROBABLY DISCOVERED ABOUT THE 1870'S. PLATS OF THE PATENTED CLAIMS ARE DATED JULY 10, 1883. IN 1948, THE WISBY BROTHERS BUILT A ROAD TO THE DEPOSIT, HAND-SORTED THE ORE, AND SHIPPED IT IN NOV. 1948 (46 TONS AT 2.83 % CU 0.005OZ AU, 1.875 OZ AG. A SECOND SHIPMENT OF 4.2 TONS HAND-SORTED ORE WAS MADE JULY 27, 1949 (7.5 % CU, 0.01 OZ AU, 3.3 OZ AG. PROPERTY CONSISTS OF 4 CLAIMS, PATENTED IN 1883 (NE PLUS ULTRA, CHANCERY, MATCHBOX, AND VULCAN CLAIMS.) AND ONE UNPATENTED CLAIM(THE COVE MEADOW) ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT; 2 UNPUB REPT; 3 FIELD OBSERV
