  • Sedimentary Beds

Comments on the geologic information

  • THE ORE IS IN THE FORM OF AN ALTERED SEDIMENTARY LENS OUTCROPPING IN THREE PLACES IN SEDIMENTARY BEDS AT TOP OF A W-DIPPING QUARTZITE-CALCAREOUS SHALE SERIES LYING EAST OF THE CROPPING AND IN CONTACT ON THE WEST WITH A DIKE OF GRANODIORITE PORPHYRY WHICH EXHIBITS NO CONTACT METAMORPHISM. THE UPPER PART OF THE SEDIMENTARY SERIES CONSISTS MAINLY OF CHERT OR SILICIFIED CALCAREOUS SHALES WITH JASPER PROMINENT IN THE LOWER PART OF THIS SECTION. THE ORE HORIZON IS IN THE CHERT AND JASPER. IT IS COMPOSED OF FINELY DIVIDED SILICA AND MANGANESE OXIDES IN A MORE OR LESS DEFINITE BED.
