  • ACTIVE OPEN-PIT PLACER MINE IN 1980, WITH GRAVITY-CONCENTRATION MILL. PLACERS WERE REPORTEDLY DISCOVERED IN 1886. EARLY PRODUCTION IS UNKNOWN, BUT THE PLACERS WERE WORKED ON A SMALL S-CALE THROUGHOUT THE 20TH CENTURY WITH OVER 1000 OZ AU PRODUCED- IN 1903-1904 ALONE. STILL ACTIVE IN 1982, EMPLOYING 3 PERSONS.

Deposit PLACERS ON UPPER PART OF GOLDRUN CREEK ARE IN A BASIN COMPOSED OF OLDER FAN GRAVELS AND RECENT ALLUVIUM. GRAVELS H-ERE ARE 10-14 FT THICK, WHILE IN THE LOWER STRETCHES OF GOLDRU-N CREEK, THEY ARE APPARENTLY UP TO 60 FT THICK.
