  • GOLD KING WAS THE ORIGINAL DISCOVERY CLAIM, ADJOINING THE VALLEY KING GROUP, WHICH WAS UNDER LEASE TO KENNETH DALE AND DICK COLLINS IN 1938. IN 1932, OLAF JOHNSON DISCOVERED PLACER GOLD ON TOP OF A SMALL HILL ON THE VALLEY KING CLAIM AND SEVERAL OUNCES OF GOLD WERE PRODUCED BY DRY-WASHING.
