  • SKARN OCCURS ALONG CONTACT BETWEEN GRANITE AND LIMESTONE. THE LIMESTONE STRIKES E AND DIPS APPROXIMATELY VERTICALLY. NORTH-TRENDING FAULTS INTERSECT THE LIMESTONE AND IN PLACES CONTAIN SMALL PODS OF COPPER ORE, MAINLY AZURITE AND MALACHITE, BUT WITH SOME CHALCOPYRITE ASSOCIATED WITH PYRITE AND QUARTZ.

Deposit ORE ZONE 500 FEET LONG AND 10 TO 40 FEET WIDE FOUND IN TACTITE AND LIMESTONE ALONG CONTACT WITH GRANITIC ROCK; IT IS A REPLACEMENT OF A FAVORABLE BED. THE EASTERN 2/3 IS NARROW AND CONSISTS MAINLY OF VEINLETS AND PODS OF INTERMIXED MAGNETITE AND TACTITE. IN WESTERN 1/3 THE ZONE WIDENS TO ABOUT 40 FEET AND FOR LENGTH OF 200 FEET IS LARGELY IRON ORE WITH LITTLE WASTE.
