| Deposit | THE LAST CHANCE OF THE EMPIRE CITY MINING CO WAS OPENED BY SEVERAL DRIFTS AND 90 INCLINE SHAFT. THE ORE (LEAD SILVER AND COPPER) OCCURED IN A CLUMMEY LIKE BODY WITH A STEEP INCLINE. THE ARE GRADE WAS REPORTED TO RUN AS $300 PER TON - THE CENTER OF THE VEIN - ULSE BODY OF ORE WAS PURE GALENA. THE HUSSEY AND THE ELLSO ADITS VERE ALSO CONTROLLED BY THIS COMPANY. THECOMPANY BUILT A CUPOLA JURNACE IN AUGUST 1872 AT BULLEN CITY FOR REDUCTION OF THEIR ORES. PRODUCTION FROM THIS MINE HAS BEEN ITERMITTENT. ONE ADIT WAS 240 'LONG, AND A 112 'DRIFT WAS REEN OFF THE BOTTOM OF THE INCLINE BY END OF 1872 THE MINE WAS DEVELOPED WITH INDIFFERENT SUCCESS BY 1874 |
