Comments on the geologic information

  • ENTIRE HILLSIDE CONSISTS OF RUBBLE & SM OTCP OF A TAN TO PURPLE, SOMETIMES LAMINATED FE-STAINED QTZITE. PHYRITE OCCURS IN THE SLIGHTLY CLAYEY MATRIX. MOST OF THE QTZITE IS FINE-GRNED & IS CHARACTERIZED BY CONCENTRIX FEOX, RINGS (LIESEGANG BANDS). SOME OF THE RK FROM THE DUMP CONTAINS PODS OF GOSSAN, BUT MOST OF THE QTZITE CARRIES FINE DISSEMINATED XTALS OF PYRITE. SOME OF THE SAMPLE HAS LITHIC, FRAG INCLUSIONS. THE QTZITE BEDS EXPOSED IN THE SHAFT ARE 1 FT IN THICKNESS. THE WALLS OF THE SHAFT SHOW FE-STAINING & VERTICAL FRACTURES. ALONG WHICH OXID. IS MORE PREVALENT. THE BEDS IN THE SHAFT ARE RELATIVELY FLAT LYING BUT DIP SLIGHTLY TO THE WEST.
