Deposit PRIOR TO 1926, GRAY COPPER CORP. SHIPPED FROM THESE PROSPECTS 240 TONS OF ORE CONTAINING 7.7% CU AND 8 OZ/TON AG AND $.82/TON AU. THE DEPOSITS ARE SIMILAR IN CHARACTER TO THE SILVER CIRCLE AND RATTLER LODES. TO THE SOUTH WITHIN THE GRANODIORITE, SEVERAL VEINS TREND N 10-25 E, TRANSVERSE TO THE CONTACT. THEY ARE NAMED THE JUNCTION VEIN (EXTENDING SW FOR 2 MILES TO THE IVY WILSON GROUP) AND THE OLD ABEVEIN (EXTENDING FOR 3,500 FEET AND HAVING A WIDTH OF UP TO 40 FT. OR MORE) (SCHRADER, 1935, P 33-4). THE MAMMOTH CLAIMS WERE LOCATED IN 1896 BY MR. BOURNE OF WELLS, NEV. (SCHRADER, 1912, P 103). THE AREA IS DEVELOPED BY THE HELEN B. SMITH TUNNEL WHICH STARTS IN GRANODIORITE ON THE HELEN B. SMITH PATENT. THE TUNNEL TRENDS N 62 W OF THE HIGHLAND NO. 5 CLAIM AND IS 600 FT BELOW THE SURFACE AT THIS POINT. THE TUNNEL ENCOUNTERS MINERALIZED LIMESTONE AT 1,205 FT. MINERAL SURVEY NO. 4235 ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT
