Subject category Comment text
Deposit WORKINGS ARE LOCATED ON A SHEAR ZONE IN A CONTINUOUS LINE EXTENDING FOR ABOUT 100 FT ALONG STRIKE. ROCKS IN THE ZONE ARE NOTABLY FRACTURED AND IN PLACES COMPLETELY ALTERED TO CLAYS (ARGILLIZED). EPIDOTE AND CU AND FE OXIDES ARE ABUNDANT IN THE ZONE AS COATINGS ON FRACTURE SURFACES. IRREGULAR LENSES OF HIGHLY FE-STAINED, DENSE, SILICIFIED MATERIAL WITHIN THE ZONE IS COMPOSED OF PODS OF MAGNETITE, PSILOMELANE, SPECULARITE, AND ABUNDANT CU MINERALS, MAINLY MALACHITE AND CHRYSOCOLLA WITH MINOR AZURITE. A SAMPLE OF THIS TYPE OF MINERALIZED ROCK WAS COLLECTED FROM THE DUMP. YELLOW AND GREEN OXIDES CHARACTERIZE THIS ZONE AND MAY BE AMIXTURE OF CU MINERALS, FE PO4, EPIDOTE, OR OTHER ALTERATION PRODUCTS. ADJACENT TO THE FRACTURED, MINERALIZED ZONE, THE INTRUSIVE IS BLEACHED, SLIGHTLY SILICIFIED, AND EPIDOTIZED OR CHLORITIZED ALONG FRACTURES. SOME OF THE INTRUSIVE DISPLAYS CROSS-CUTTING FE AND MAGNETITE VEINLETS LESS THAN 1 INCH IN WIDTH.
