| Deposit | VEIN CONTAINS OXIDES OF PB, AG & CU IN A QUARTZ GANGUE. ALSO ORE MINERALS IN A SET OF N-S CROSS-FRACTURES DIPPING 40-60E. AN ORE SHOOT AT THE INTERSECTION OF THE VEIN AND A FRACTURE WAS MINED TO A DEPTH OF 40 FT. ADIT FOLLOWS 3 FT WIDE HORNFELSIC ZONE ADJACENT TO QUARTZ PORPHYRY INTRUSIVE. BOTH INTRUSIVE AND SHALE UNITS ARE HIGHLY FRACTURED AND ALTERED. MINERALIZATION CONFINED TO INTRUSIVE. POST-MINERALIZATION SILICA-COATED ROCK SURFACES. ABOUT 50 YDS WEST OF MAIN ADIT, A MINOR SURFACE CUT WAS SAMPLED. SURFACE SCRAPING REVEALED QUARTZ VEIN CUTTING QUARTZITE. VERY FINE-GRAINED PYRITE, CHALCOPYRITE, AND GALENA/TETRAHEDRITE WERE FINELY DISSEMINATED IN THE QUARTZITE AND VEIN. ROCKS HIGHLY FRACTURED AND FE-STAINED. QUARTZ VEIN IS ESTIMATED TO BE 8 FT WIDE. VEIN SACCHROIDAL, VUGGY, LINED WITH EUHEDRAL QUARTZ CRYSTALS AT ADIT, VERY FINE SPRAYS OF MALACHITE WERE OBSERVED COATING EXPOSED ROCK SURFACES AND FILLING FINE FRACTURES OF THE PORPHYRY. ORE ON DUMP WAS SLIGHTLY GOSSANY. SHALE AND |
