General comments

Subject category Comment text
Deposit SHEETED QUARTZ VEIN SYSTEM. VEINS ARE COMPOSED OF COMB OR PRISMATIC QUARTZ, ARE SUB-PARALLEL IN ORIENTATION AND CUT THE HOST ROCK IN A ZONE MORE THAN 10 FT WIDE. THE MAIN VEIN IS 1-3 FT WIDE WIDE WITH SMALLER SUB-PARALLEL VEINS AND VEINLETS EXTENDING OUTWARD INTO HOST. TYPICALLY, THE VEINS ARE WHITE AND BANDED OR FORM COCKADE (RADIATING) OR DRUSY ENCRUSTATIONS ON SILICIFIED AND BLEACHED ROCK FRAGMENTS. MOST VEINS HAVE OPEN CENTERS OR FE-STAINED VUGS. CALCITE AND SIDERITE INTER-LENSES COMPOSE ALMOST HALF THE VEIN. QUARTZ AFTER CALCITE PSEUDOMORPHS ARE VERY COMMON. SEVERAL STAGES OF VEINING ARE EVIDENT. SOME VEIN MATERIAL IS BRECCIATED.
