| Deposit | MOST OF ROCK ON DUMP IS RHYOLITE; ALSO SOME SPHERULITIC GLASSY MATERIAL AND LIGHT GREEN PHENOCRYST-POOR JASPERY RHYOLITE. SOME OF THE RHYOLITE SHOWS CLOTS OF PARTIALLY OXIDIZED PYRITE. QUARTZ VEIN AND BOTRYDIDAL OPALINE VEIN MATERIAL WAS ALSO FOUND ON DUMP, BUT NOT IN ABUNDANCE. RHOLITE FLOW AND ASH MATERIAL IS SILICIFIED. MINOR ANDESITIC VOLCANIC ROCK IS FOUND AS FLOAT AND ON DUMP. QUARTZ VEIN AND QUARTZ-CEMENTED VOLCANIC BRECCIA WAS SAMPLED FROM DUMP. THE QUARTZ VEIN IS WHITE, PRISMATIC WITH ABUNDANT VUGS AND OPEN CENTERS FILLED WITH IRON-STAINED EUHEDRAL QUARTZ. FINE (HAIRLINE), VITREOUS AND GREEN OPALINE VEINLETS CUT ACROSS MAIN VEIN. VEIN BRECCIA CONTAINS SILICIFIED VOLCANIC ROCK FRAGMENTS, CLOTS OF OXIDIZED, VERY FINE-GRAINED PYRITE AND FINE-GRAINED CRYSTALS OF UNIDENTIFIED STEELY GREY MINERAL, WHICH MAY BE A SILVER MINERAL, VEIN VIEN IS COATED AND VEINED BY LIMONITE AND MINOR MN OXIDES. POSSIBLY SOME ADULARIA WITH QUARTZ ALSO. |
