Comments on development

  • NO ACTIVITY AT TIME OF EXAMINATION IN 1983. TRENCHING WAS PROBABLY 5-10 YRS. OLD. BULLDOZER WORK WAS OLDER THAN THAT OBSERVED IN AG EXPLORATION ON E. SIDE OF RANGE.

General comments

Subject category Comment text
Deposit SPARSE DISSEMINATED SCHEELITE WITH POSSIBLY SOME WOLFRAMITE IN LIGHT GREEN TACTITE IN THE CONTACT ZONE SURROUNDING THE WESTERN STOCK WHERE LIMESTONE IS IN CONTACT WITH GRANITE. A LARGER AREA OF TACTITE FAVORABLE FOR SCHEELITE DEPOSITS IS PRESENT. WORKINGS FOLLOW 2 FRACTURE ZONES ONE TRENDING N70W, DIP 75 NE AND ONE TRENDING E-W. STEEPLY INCLINED FRACTURE SURFACES IN THE TACTITE ARE COATED BY MASSIVE TO CRYSTALLINE EPIDOTE. FRACTURE OF THE CARBONATES ADJACENT TO THE INTRUSIVE PROVIDED AN AVENUE FOR MINERALIZING FLUIDS. TACTITE COLLECTED FROM THE DUMP IS EPIDOTE-RICH, DENSE,AND CONTAINS COARSE CRYSTALS AND PODS OF WHITE CALCITE. CALCITE COATS FRACTURE SURFACES AND THE ROCK CONTAINS ONLY VERY MINOR FE OXIDES. WHEN LAMPED. THE SAMPLE SHOWED COARSE SCATTERED FLAKES OF SCHEELITE AND POWELLITE, SOME CRYSTALS INTERGROWN OR GRADATIONAL. WOLFRAMITE LEPORTED(NBMG BULL 73) BUT NONE WAS SEEN.
