  • 2 ADITS CONNECTED BY A COMBINED ORE CHUTE/SHAFT THAT EXTENDS TO THE SURFACE. A SMALL GLORY HOLE CONNECTS WITH THE UPPER LEVEL BY A STOPE AND ORE-PASS. ALSO INCLUDED ARE 2 OPEN PITS AND 2 300-FT ADITS

  • G.D. MILLS PRODUCED 32 FLASKS OF QUICKSILVER BEFORE SELLING IT IN 1928 TO J.L. MCKINNEY AND ASSOCIATES. FROM 1928 TO 1943 THESE OWNERS DID SOME EXPLORATORY WORK, AND IN 1941 THEY PRODUCED 33 FLASKS OF QUICKSILVER FROM HAND-SORTED ORE.

Deposit CINNABAR OCCURS AS SMALL CRYSTALLINE VEINLETS AND PAINTY COATINGS IN BRECCIATED ZONES IN THE SILICIFIED HOST ROCK. IT SEEMS TO BE CONCENTRATED ALONG OR NEAR FAULTS. BRECCIATED ZONE IN QUARTZITE, RECEMENTED WITH QUARTZ. OPEN SPACE SURFACES COATED WITH IRON OXIDE. SOME DUMP SPECIMENS HAVE A FINE DUSTING OF CINNABAR SOME HG CL (?) (YELLOW MINERAL-EITHER SB OR HG CL); YELLOW BARITE CRYSTALS IN VUGS.
