| Deposit | CLAIM AREA IS UNDERLAIN BY METAMORPHIC ROCKS ENCLOSED BY QUARTZ MONZONITE. SCHEELITE-BEARING TACTITE OCCURS ALONG AND NEAR CONTACTS OF BIOTITE-FELDSPAR QUARTZ SCHIST WITH THE GRANITIC ROCK. EXPOSURES ARE POOR, BUT SCHEELITE APPEARS TO BE PRESENT IN ALL THE TACTITE, WHICH IS COMPOSED MAINLY OF PYROXENE, GARNET, AMPHIBOLE EPIDOTE, AND QUARTZ. MUCH OF THE SCHEELITE FLUORESCES CANARY YELLOW, INDICATIVE OF HIGH MOLYBDENUM CONTENT. TACTITE BODIES APPEAR TO BE SMALL AND TUNGSTEN CONTENT IS GENERALLY LOW, RANGING FROM 0.01 % TO 2 %, BUT AVERAGING ONLY ABOUT 0.25 % WO3. |
