Comments on the geologic information

  • COUNTRY ROCK: STEEPLY DIPPING, TIGHTLY FOLDED AND METAMORPHOSED EARLY CRETACEOUS QUARTZITE, LIMESTONE, CONGLOMERATE, AND TUFF CORRELATED TO BISBEE GROUP (MCANULTY, 1970); UNCONFORMABLY OVERLAIN BY ANDESITE. SECTION INTRUDED BY DACITE PORPHYRY (HYPABYSSAL INTRUSIVES, FLOWS AND SILLS). ANDESITE IS INTENSELY HYDROTHERMALLY ALTERED AND HOSTS MAJOR CU MINERALIZATION. UPPERMOST LARAMIDE-AGE ROCKS IN THE AREA CONSIST OF 1> RHYOLITE TUFF, VOLCANIC BRECCIA, ANDESITE, AND ANDESITIC TUFF UNIT ASSIGNED (MCANULTY, 1970) TO THE REPRESO MEMBER OF THE EJIDO RHYOLITE; 2> VALLE ANDESITE (MCANULTY, 1970).
