Deposit THE DEPOSIT IS IN A CONGLOMERATE CONSISTING OF IGNEOUS ROCK AND QUARTZ CLASTS WITH A YELLOW, CLAYEY SAND MATRIX WHICH CONTAINS OCCASIONAL GOLD FLAKES AND HEAVY MINERALS. THE CONGLOMERATE DEPOSIT, WHICH DISCORDANTLY OVERLIES THE IGNEOUS BASEMENT, IS WEDGE-SHAPED AND EXTENDS AS A BELT 30 M IN WIDTH, 500 M LONG, AND 3-5 M THICKNESS.
Deposit BUENAVENTURA (1975) REPORTS THAT THE DEPOSIT HAS NOT BEEN WORKED IN ITS ENTIRETY, AND THAT THERE ARE STILL AREAS OF GOOD GOLD CONTENT.
