General comments

Subject category Comment text
Deposit THE DEPOSIT IS IN A RECENT ALLUVIAL CONGLOMERATE THAT CONSISTS OF CLASTS OF IGNEOUS INTRUSIVES AND QUARTZ IN A CLAYEY SAND MATRIX. NEAR THE BASE OF THE CONGLOMERATE THERE ARE OXIDIZED BELTS OF SAND WHERE THERE ARE GOLD FLAKES AND OTHER ABUNDANT HEAVY MINERALS. THE CONGLOMERATE IS EXTENSIVE IN AREA AND AVERAGES 3 M THICK.
Deposit BUENAVENTURA (1975) REPORTS THAT THE DEPOSIT HAS ONLY BEEN PARTIALLY WORKED, AND THAT A GOOD PART OF THE CONGLOMERATE HAS YET TO BE EXPLORED. THESE AREAS PROBABLY HAVE GOOD GOLD CONTENT.
