General comments

Subject category Comment text
Deposit THE HOST CONGLOMERATE CONSISTS OF CLASTS OF IGNEOUS INTRUSIVES, SEDIMENTARY ROCKS, AND QUARTZ IN A CLAYEY SAND MATRIX. GOLD FLAKES AND NUGGETS AND OTHER ABUNDANT HEAVY MINERALS ARE FOUND IN THE MATRIX. THE DEPOSIT IS IN A RICH ZONE OF THE GREAT ALLUVIAL DEPOSIT LAIS BY THE SALDANA RIVER.
Deposit BUENAVENTURA (1975) REPORTS THAT THE DEPOSIT WAS WORKED INTENSELY, BUT THAT THERE ARE STILL EXTENSIVE AREAS LEFT, PROBABLY WITH GOOD GOLD CONTENT.
