Deposit PLACER IS IN A RECENT ALLUVIAL CONGLOMERATE THAT CONSISTS OF CLASTS OF IGNEOUS AND SEDIMENTARY ROCKS AND QUARTZ IN A CLAYEY SAND MATRIX. GOLD DUST AND OTHER ABUNDANT HEAVY MINERALS ARE FOUND IN THE MATRIX.
Deposit BUENAVENTURA (1975) REPORTS THAT THE DEPOSIT WAS WORKED EXTENSIVELY, BUT THAT THERE ARE STILL AMPLE ZONES WHICH PROBABLY HAVE GOOD GOLD CONTENT.
