Deposit DIAMONDS OCCUR IN QUATERNARY SEDIMENTS DEPOSITED ON DEEPLY WEATHERED AND LATERIZED PRE- RORAIMA SEDIMENTARY ROCK. THE UNCONSOLIDATED MATERIALS HAVE A BASAL DIAMOND-BEARING GRAVEL 5-7 CM THICK THAT IS RICH IN ANGULAR QUARTZ FRAGMENTS. ORGANIC RICH LAYERS OCCUR ABOVE THE FINE SANDSTONE.
