  • GOOD BARITE CRYSTALS IN SMALL AGGREGATE MASSES AND CLUSTERS FOUND ON THE DUMP. EDMUNDSON (1938) STATES THAT LOCAL STRIKE AND DIP VARY DUE TO MINOR CROSS FAULTS ON THE NORTHWEST SIDE OF THE MCMULLIN SYNCLINE. REGIONAL GEOLOGY FROM C. BATTS (1933), B. COOPER (1936), AND B. FRENCH (1967).

  • WORKINGS CONSIST OF ONE LARGE PIT APPROXIMATELY 20 FEET LONG, 10 FEET WIDE, AND FIVE FEET DEEP, AND 3 SMALLER PITS 5 TO 10 FEET IN DIAMETER AND 2 TO 5 FEET DEEP, AND DUMP MATERIAL. ALL PITS ARE PARTIALLY FILLED IN WITH ROCK DEBRIS AND GROWN OVER. FIELD EXAMINATION CONDUCTED 11/18/85.

  • NO PRODUCTION FIGURES AVAILABLE. PROSPECT IS LOCATED 700 FEET WOUTH OF H.P. COPENHAVER MINE TREND. MOST LIKELY WORKED AT THE SAME TIME (EARLY 1890'S) AS THE H. P. COPENHAVER. NO DESCRIPTION OR HISTORY OF THIS PROSPECT FOUND IN THE LITERATURE.

Deposit DEPOSIT NOT EXPOSED NOR DESCRIBED IN THE LITERATURE. SMALL MASSES AND CLUSTERS OF BARITE CRYSTALS FOUND ON THE DUMPS. AS WITH THE OTHER DEPOSITS IN THIS DISTRICT, BARITE MOST LIKELY OCCURS AS VEINS AND REPLACEMENT MASSES ALONG FRACTURES IN THE BEDROCK, AND AS IRREGULAR FRAGMENTS IN THE OVERLYING RESIDUAL CLAY AND SOIL.
