  • ONE CUT WITH 50 FT. HIGHWALL AND SPOIL PILES. TRENCH 700 FT. NE OF MINE IS PRESERVED AND REPRESENTS THE PROBABLE LOADING FACULITIES AND TERMINUS OF THE "DINKY" RAILROAD FROM SPEEDWELL.

  • THIS MINE, THE SAUNDERS AND GANNAWAY MINES WERE CONNECTED BY A "DINKY" RAILROAD TO THE N&W MAIN LINE IN SPEEDWELL (1907-1930'S). THIS MINE MAY HAVE OPENED ABOUT THIS TIME. NO EVIDENCE OF EARLIER DEVELOPMENT.
