  • PROPERTY DEFINED AS INACTIVE PROSPECT UNTIL 1940'S WHEN MN WAS PRODUCED FROM THIS SITE. BEFORE 1940, 7 PROSPECT PITS TREND N 60 DEGREES W, SEVERAL OTHERS LOCATED OFF THIS TREND; LARGEST CUT WAS 60 FT. LONG, 12 FT FACE. DURING THE MID-1940'S THE PROSPECT WAS ENLARGED TO A SMALL ACTIVE PRODUCER BY SEVERAL DIFFERENT OPERATORS, ALL GOVERNMENT SUBSIDIZED FOR THE WAR EFFORT. PRODUCTION FROM THIS JOB AND OTHERS NEARBY WERE REPORTEDLY HAULED OFF TO RR AT RURAL RETREAT BY 8 TO 10 TON DUMP TRUCK AND BURIED AT UNKNOWN LOCATION AS PART OF STRATEGIC MINERAL REPOSITORY.
