THREE OTHER PARTIES TRIED FOR SILVER BY OPEN PIT, ALL FAILED; LAST MINED FOR SIDERITE BUT METALLURGY TOO DIFFICULT. LAST OWNED BY DAVID J. STILES (1831) TWO PARALLEL VEIN QUARTZ WITH SIDERITE. FIRST VEIN 200 TO 300 FEET LONG PINCHES OUT INTO HILL SIDE; MAIN ORE VEIN WORKED ALONG STRIKE FOR 1500 FEET OR MORE BY TWO ADITS, WHICH STOPED BOTH VEINS THROUGH VERTICAL INTERVAL OF 50 TO 75 FEET. VEIN QUARTZ 2 TO 8 FEET WIDE, AVERAGES 3 TO 4 FEET WIDE. STRIKE OF VEIN QUARTZ N 60 DEG. WEST, DIP VERTICAL. VEINS MAY EXTEND FOR MORE THAN 2500 FEET.
