  • GEOL.DESC: AREA IS UNDERLAIN BY METAMORPHOSED JURASSIC SEDIMENTARY ROCK, WHICH CONSIST PRINCIPALLY OF FINE-GRAINED BIOTITE-QUARTZ SCHIST AND SMALL LENSES AND LAYERS OF PYROPHYLLITE SCHIST. FOLIATION IN METAMORPHIC ROCKS STRIKES N.W. AND DIPS STEEPLY E. MINERALIZATION TENDS TO LOCALIZE IN PYROPHYLLITE SCHIST, WHICH AT SHAFT, FORMS LAYER LESS THAN SEVERAL TENS OF FT. IN WIDTH. PYRRHOTITE REPORTED IN SHAFT. ARSENOPYRITE IS PRINCIPAL SULFIDE, AND A FEW OXIDIZED MINERALS, INCLUDING MALACHITE AND AZURITE, WERE FOUND.
