  • GEOL.DESC: AREA UNDERLAIN BY GABBRO (SAN MARCOS OR CUYAMACA) UPON WHICH HAS DEVELOPED DARK BROWN GOSSAN THAT CROPS OUT OVER AREA 325 FT. LONG, AND ABOUT 50 FT. WIDE. EXPLORATION INDICATES DEPTH OF 60 FT,BELOW WHICH IS UNALTERED GABBRO. NICKEL AND COPPER-BEARING SULFIDES OCCUR SPARINGLY IN UNALTERED GABBRO, AND SEEM MORE PROMINENT IN GOSSAN. UNALTERED GABBRO CONTAINS PYRRHOTITE AND CHALCOPYRITE. GABBRO INTRUDED INTO LARGER QUARTZ DIORITE BODY.
