  • WORKED BRIEFLY FOR FELDSPAR 1930. PROSPECTED FOR FELDSPAR AND MICA 1943 BY FAUSTO BERTOLINI. IN 1943, PIT 65 FEET LONG NORTH-SOUTH, 20 FEET WIDE EAST-WEST, 15 FEET DEEP. THREE PEGMATITES, EACH WITH PROSPECT PITS, NORTHERN PIT LARGEST AND MOST DEVELOPED WITH LARGE PIT. IT STRIKES N. 2 DEG. WEST, DIPS 69 DEG. EAST, IS 240 FEET LONG, 25 FEET WIDE. PROPERTY OWNED BY DINO L. BERTOLINI IN 1954.

  • GEOL.DESC: PART OF NUMEROUS SWARMS OF NORTHWARD TRENDING DIKES MOSTLY IN NARROW OUTCROP ZONE OF COLLINS HILL SCHIST BUT ALSO IN EASTWARD ADJACENT LOWER PALEOZOIC GLASTONBURY GRANITE GNEISS AND WESTWARD ADJACENT PRE-ORDOVICIAN MIDDLETOWN GNEISS.
  • GEOL.DESC: USUALLY COARSE-GRAINED, LIGHT-GRAY; DARK BIOTITE-RICH BANDS 2 TO 4 INCHES THICK. BORDERED BY AMPHIBOLITE BAND AS MUCH AS 100 FEET THICK. SIMILAR TO ORDOVICIAN HADDAM GNEISS.
