  • Veins Strike East, Roughly Parallel To The Granodiorite Bodies; Best Developed In Shale Rather Than Granodiorite, May Die Out Completely On Entering Compact Granodiorite.

Comments on the geologic information

  • COMMONLY A VEIN MAY HAVE GRANODIORITE IN ONE WALL AND SHALE IN THE OTHER.

Deposit DESCRIPTION OF THE MAIN VEINS AT BULDIBUYO FOLLOWS. VEIN MATERIAL, IN GENERAL, CONSISTS MAINLY OF MILKY QUARTZ, AND AURIFEROUS PYRITE WITH MINOR AMOUNTS OF ARSENOPYRITE, PYRRHOTITE, SPHALERITE, GALENA, CHALCOPYRITE, AND HEMATITE. SPHALERITE AND ARSENOPYRITE APPEAR TO INCREASE AT DEPTH. GOLD IS CONTAINED LARGELY IN PYRITE, CONTAINING 15-200 G/TON/AU. ARSENOPYRITE IS REPORTED TO CONTAIN 20-150 G/TON/AU AND PYRRHOTITE 5-15 G/TON/AU; PYRRHOTITE IS MORE ABUNDANT THAN PYRITE WHERE VEIN WALLS ARE CALCAREOUS SHALE. GOLD IS VERY FINE-GRAINED, GENERALLY BEING INVISIBLE AT LESS THAN 1000 DIAMETERS MAGNIFICATION. GALENA IS LATE, APPEARING IN POCKETS OR VEINLETS IN PYRITE, CARRYING 1-1.5 KG SILVER PER TON. THE ORE SHOOTS OF THE SANTA TERESA VEIN PLUNGE (RAKE) STEEPLY WEST. THERE ARE TWO LARGE ONES AND SEVERAL SMALLER ONES. THE BANCOS BAJOS VEIN CONTAINS 4-6 G/T AU AND LIES 150 M VERTICALLY ABOVE THE END OF SANTA TERESA VEIN. BANCOS ALTOS CARRIES ABOUT 8 G/T AU AND IS 150-200 M HORIZONTALLY NW
Deposit OF NE END OF SANTA TERESA VEIN. ORE OF THE CHIPOCOS VEIN IS LOW GRADE. IT IS 150 M E OF BANCOS ALTOS VEIN. THE SANTA BARBARA VEIN HAS OXIDXED ORE AS MUCH AS 60 G/T AU. IT IS 500-600 M SOUTH OF SANTA TERESA VEIN.
Deposit First Production Year: PRESENT OPERATOR STARTED PRODUCTION-1937.
