  • The Posco Veins Are Well-Defined Fractures That Trend Generally About N70 Deg E, Dip Steeply And Have A Strike Length Of As Much As 3 Km. The Veins Range In Width From A Few Cm To About 1 M. Grade Of Ore Mined Seems To Have Declined Through The Years. According To Alvarado(1905, P. 40-48) The Average Grade In 1905 Was 40-50 Grams Per Ton And Some Ore Contained As Much As 418 Grams. Deposit THE SIETE BOCAS AND SOLEDAD VEINS HAVE PROMINENT GOUGE ZONES LOCALLY ALONG THE WALLS. GOLD IS FREE IN QUARTZ OR MAY BE IN AURIFEROUS PYRITE. THE VEINS ARE CUT BY NUMEROUS SMALL POST-MINERALIZATION FAULTS WHICH THEMSELVES MAY CONTAIN LATER BARREN QUARTZ. VEIN MATERIAL IS MASSIVE, WITHOUT BANDING OR CRUSTIFICATION. ORE SEEMS TO BE CONCENTRATED TO SOME DEGREE WHERE THE VEINS ARE WIDEST AND ALSO AT INTERSECTIONS.
