THIS VILLAGE MAY BE THE HIGHEST PERMANENTLY INHABITED PLACE ON EARTH; ALTITUDE IS JUST OVER 5000 M, WITH SOME WORKINGS SEVERAL HUNDRED METERS ABOVE. THE AREA IS UNDERGOING ACTIVE GLACIATION.
