Controls for ore emplacement

  • Ore Deposits Are An Intricate System Of Veins Along Faults And Shear Zones. Ore Minerals Are Zoned Vertically, With Galena-Quartz Ore Abundant At Higher Levels And Sphalerite-Arsenopyrite-Carbonate More Common At Depth.

Comments on the geologic information

  • COUNTRY ROCK IS SLIGHTLY FOLDED RHYOLITE-TRACHYTE VOLCANIC ROCKS, OVERLYING FOLDED RHYOLITE-RHYODACITE VOLCANICS AND INTRUDED BY BODY OF PORPHYRITIC RHYOLITE AND BY IRREGULAR MASSES OF BRECCIA.

Comments on the production information

  • REPORTED AMOUNTS ACCURATE AS POSSIBLE. HOWEVER, SIMONS IS DOUBTFUL AS TO RELIABILITY OF DATA PRIOR TO 1949
  • THE PRODUCTION REPORTED IS FROM BOTH COLLARACRA AND HUANCAPETI MINES

Comments on the reserve resource information

  • INSUFFICIENT DATA 3/74 TO MAKE ESTIMATE. METALLOGENIC MAPS OF PERU INDICATE TARICA AS A DEPOSIT CONTAINING BETWEEN 100,000 AND ONE MILLION TONS OF ORE, BUT THE DISTRICT MAY CONTAIN MORE ORE
  • CARPA AND ALSACIA VEINS HAD NO ORE LEFT IN THE ACCESIBLE PARTS OF THE WORKINGS (1947). ORE MINED OUT ABOVE LEVEL 4 IN HUANCAPETI WORKINGS (1947).

Comments on the workings information

  • SURFACE CUTS, ADITS AT 4545, 4600, 4638, 4658, AND 4680 M ON HUANCAPETI VEIN (1947); ADITS AT 4545 AND 4555 M ON ALSACIA VEIN (1947) AND MAIN ADIT AT 4670 M WITH WORKINGS BETWEEN 4640 AND 4710.
