Deposit A GEOLOGIC ROAD LOG BETWEEN SENHOR DO BONFIM AND CAMPO FORMOSO INDICATES THE JACOBINA SERIES OR PRECAMBRIAN-B IS RELATIVELY COMPLEX. FROM EAST TO WEST THE METAMORPHIC SEQUENCE IS MADE OF SERICITIZED ARKOSIC QUARTZITE; BIOTITE SCHIST; IRON FORMATION WITH ALTERNATING CHERT AND HEMATITE; FINE GRAINED (GRAPHITIC) SCHIST; LIGHT TO MEDIUM RECRYSTALLIZED CHERT WITH SPARSELY DISSEMINATED PYRITE; PURPLE, FERRUGINOUS RECRYSTALLIZED CHERT; AND LIGHT GREEN TO LIGHT GRAY SERICITIC QUARTZITE. THE ENTIRE SECTION STRIKES N20-40E AND DIPS 50-60S. TRUE THICKNESS OF THE IRON FORMATION AND OTHER UNITS ARE DIFFICULT TO DETERMINE UNTIL DETAILED MAPPING IS DONE.
