Comments on development

  • The Development Consists Of A Single Pit At The Edge Of The River From Which A Few Thousand Yards Have Been Washed. The Pit Is In Bench Gravel That Reaches As Much As 50 Feet Above The River. The Quartzitic Gneiss Bedrock At The Pit Is About 10 Feet Below The River Level. This Material Consists Of About 35 Feet Of Pourly Sorted Gravel And Boulders With A Sandy Matrix, Four Feet Of Sand, And 10 Feet Of Poorly Sorted Bouldery Material. According To Reports, The Principal Values Lie Below River Level In The Bottom Ten Feet Of Gravel. A Ditch About One Fourth Mile Long Leads Water From Grouse Creek To A Penstock, Whence It Is Fed To A Four Inch Giant. Values Ore Low So That Production Has Been Insignificant.
