  • HOSTED IN CALAVERAS SERIES - L. ; GEOL.DESC: DEPOSIT IS SIMILAR TO MOUNT HOUGH, ASSOCIATED WITH RED CHERT LENS INTERBEDDED WITH SLATE AND QUARTZ SERICITE SCHIST OF THE CALAVERAS GROUP (ARLINGTON FORMATION). GENERAL STRIKE IS N 40 TO 43 W, DIPPING 50 TO 55 S.W. ORE VEIN CONSISTS OF HARD, MASSIVE PSILOMELANE, AND SOFT PYROLUSITE. RHODONITE VEINS AND GRANULAR RHODONITE WITH ALBITE ARE PRESENT. THE MAIN ORE CONSISTS OF BRAUNITE.
