Ore body information

  • Name Senator Stewart Vein
    General form PINCH AND SWELL
    Strike N 35 DEG E
    Dip SE
    Thickness 213
    Length 285M

Comments on the ore body information

  • Orebody pinched out 213 meters below main adit level. Siderite and barite increase in abundance with depth as lead-silver grades increase.

Controls for ore emplacement

  • Ore-bearing structure links the West Fault and the Osburn Fault.
  • Orebody hosted by Revett Formation quartzite.

Comments on the geologic information

  • Host rocks variously identified as Burke Formation and St. Regis Formation quartzite. Early workers apparently did not recognize that stratigraphy was overturned. Rocks traditionally assigned to the St. Regis-Revett transition zone are now recognized as upper Revett Formation.
