Comments on the geologic information

  • ORE HOSTED IN FRANCISCAN COMPLEX--L. TO L. ; GEOL.DESC: ORE OCCURS BETWEEN MASSIVE JASPER AND CONTORTED THIN-BEDDED GREEN AND WHITE CHERT OF THE FRANCISCAN GROUP. IT IS UNCERTAIN WHETHER THE JASPER IS STRATIGRAPHICALLY ABOVE OR BELOW THE ORE HORIZON DUE TO THE DIP DIRECTION. ORE IS IN LENTICULAR MASSES 1 TO 4 FT. THICK, CONSISTING MAINLY OF HAUSMANNITE AND MANGANIFEROUS CHERT IN THE W. ADIT. ORE BECOMES MORE SILICEOUS TOWARD WALLS GRADING INTO MANGANIFEROUS CHERT TO THIN-BEDDED CHERT. ORE IS VEINED BY QUARTZ AND CLEAR RESINOUS NEOTOCITE.
