  • ORE HOSTED IN FRANCISCAN COMPLEX--L. TO L. ; GEOL.DESC: ORE BODY TRENDS N 30 W, IS NEARLY VERTICAL, AND IS ALMOST PINCHED OUT AT A DEPTH OF 35 FT. ORE BODY WAS SEPARATED FROM WALL ROCK, WHICH CONSISTED OF LEACHED THIN-BEDDED CHERT. A FINE CLAY ZONE ALONG WALLS SUGGESTS THE ORE BODY IS LIMITED BY FAULTS. CHERT ZONE IN WHICH ORE IS FOUND CAN BE TRACED FOR 100 YARDS S., WHERE IT ABUTS A LARGE MASS OF GLAUCOPHANE SCHIST. ORE CONSISTS OF BLACK MANGANESE OXIDE.
