  • PLACER WASHING IN BRANCHES WAS DONE SOON AFTER GOLD WAS DISCOVERED IN THE AREA, WITH UNKNOWN RESULTS. A SHAFT AND TUNNEL WERE OPENED PRIOR TO THE CIVIL WAR.
