  • IN 1974, TEN CAVED PITS AND TRENCH CUTS AND DUMPS EVIDENT. 3 SHAFTS REPORTEDLY WERE SUNK IN THE 1800'S, 2 WERE 9 M (30 FT) DEEP, THE THIRD WAS 46 M (150 FT) DEEP.

  • PLACER GRAVELS AND SMALL CUTS WORKED PRIOR TO CIVIL WAR. CREDNER (1868) REPORTS 6 CUTS AND 2 SHAFTS, EACH 9 M (30 FT) DEEP, ON THE PROPERTY{ ALSO AN OLD MILL IN RUINS ON THE BANK OF A SMALL STREAM WHICH HAD BEEN DESERTED FOR 12 YEARS. AFTER THE CIVIL WAR A 46 M (150 FT) SHAFT WAS SUNK, BUT NO FURTHER WORK WAS DONE. IN 1910 IT WAS OWNED BY THE OWNER OF THE MORROW MINE. SANTA FE MINING DRILLED TWO VERTICAL CORE HOLES(402' ABD 443') JUST NORTHEAST OF THE OLD SHAFT. CORE IS STORED AT THE DIVISION OF MINERAL RESOURCES GARAGE.
