Deposit THERE IS ONLY LITTLE INFORMATION ABOUT THE EXISTING MINES, ONLY INFORMATION ABOUT THE MINING AREA EXISTS. THERE ARE THREE TYPES OF ORE: A) FERRONICKEL WITH ABOUT 51-52 % FE; B) NICKEL-SILICATE, WHERE THE SI02 AND MGO HAVE PRESUMABLY NOT BEEN WASHED AND; C) A NICKEL BAUXIT. MINING IS CONCENTRATED ON THE FERRO-NICKEL ORE. IT IS A RESIDUAL CONCENTRATION OF IRON LATERITES WITH NI AND CO. THE NICKEL CONTENT RANGES FROM 0.5 % TO WELL OVER 1 %, USUALLY JUST UNDER 1 % ON AVERAGE AND WITH ABOUT 0.06 % CO. THESE LATERITES OCCUR IN POCKETS INSIDE SEDIMENTARY STRATA RESTING ON ULTRABASIC ROCKS.
