Deposit THE MINERAL IS SHIPPED 600 MILES DOWN THE ST. LAWRENCE RIVER TO A SMELTER AT SOREL. THEY USE ELECTRIC FURNACES TO TREAT THE ORE TO PRODUCE TITANIUM BEARING SLAG AND IRON ORE. THE PIGMENT GRADE SLAG CONTAINS 70 TO 72 % TITANIUM DIOXIDE.
