THE IRON CHIEF, ONCE KNOWN AS THE ASHERMAN WAS OPENED IN 1886 AND SHIPPED ONLY IN 1886 AND 1887. THE BROTHERTON MINE WAS OPENED IN 1886 BY BROTHERTON IRON MINING CO.
