HIS DISCOVERIES INCLUDED: (1) A VEIN OF EXCELLENT MAGNETIC IRON ORE, RICH IN MANGANESE, 0.6 M (2 FT) THICK, IN STRATIFIED GNEISS{ (2) A VEIN OF AURIFEROUS QUARTZ OF EXCELLENT QUATITY, 0.8 TO 1.0 M (2.5 TO 3 FT) THICK, OPENED BY PROSPECTING SHAFTS IN 1850{ (3) A VEIN OF FERRUGINOUS QUARTZ, WITH VISIBLE GOLD, FROM SIX TO EIGHTEEN INCHES THICK, OPENED BY A SHAFT 6.7 M (22 FT) DEEP, IN SINKING WHICH THREE SMALLER BUT EQUALLY RICH QUARTZ VEINS WERE CROSSED{ (4) TWO FERRUGINOUS QUARTZ VEINS FROM 0.3 TO 1.8 M (1 TO 6 FT) THICK{ AND (5) A SECOND VEIN OF MAGNETIC OXIDE OF IRON IN THE EASTERN PART OF THE PROPERTY?
