  • LOCATION AND ELEVATION GIVEN ARE FOR A POSSIBLE COLLAPSED PORTAL. "MAJOR" WORKINGS EXTEND 400 FT IN N 55 E LINE, INCLUDING A POSSIBLE SHAFT AT UTM 4067470N, 510350 E. MINOR WORKINGS EXTEND 300 FT IN S 20 W DIRECTION, CONSIST OF SMALL CROSSCUT TRENCHES AND SMALL PITS. AN INTERSECTION OF ROUTE 733 AND 735, TAKE ROUTE 733, 0.5 MILES (0.75 KM) WEST TO A DIRT ROAD WHICH RUNS 0.3 MILES (0.45 KM). "PORTAL" IS 0.3 MIL S 76 W THROUGH THE WOODS. FIELD CHECK DONE MAY, 1987.

  • CURREY (1859) GIVES NO FIGURES FOR PRODUCTION; THERE PROBABLY WAS ONLY LIMITED PRODUCTION, AS SECONDARY COPPER ZONE IS RELATIVELY SMALL DUE TO TOPOGRAPHY (WRIGHT AND RAMAN, 1948).

  • 1859: CURREY REPORTED A TOTAL DRIVAGE OF LEVELS AS 15.2 M AND TOTAL DEPTH OF SHAFTS AS 6.1 M. 1948: WRIGHT AND RAMAN INDICATE SEVERAL ADITS, TRENCHES, AND PROSPECT PITS. 1987 (MAY): ONE POSSIBLE COLLAPSED PORTAL AT LOCATION GIVEN. N 55 E OF "PORTAL" ARE 3 CROSSCUT TRENCHES 100+ FT LONG, AND AT THE CREST OF THE HILL ARE SEVERAL SMALL PITS, SHALLOW CROSSCUT TRENCHES, AND A POSSIBLE COLLAPSED SHAFT (PIT 8 FT DEEP AND 10-12 FT WIDE).
