  • 1859: CURREY REPORTS 61.0 M OF TUNNELS AND 18.3 M. OF SHAFTS, WITH THREE AIR SHAFTS. 1987: WORKINGS CONSIST OF COLLAPSED SHAFT AT 2400 FT., THEN A TRENCH GOING TO SW. TRENCH IS GENERALLY 35 FT WIDE AND 24 FT DEEP, ALTHOUGH IT WIDENS TO THE SW. TRENCH STRIKE CURVES: IT BENDS FROM S30W AT THE PORTAL TO S60W AT ITS END NEAR THE RAILROAD GRADE. SEVERAL COLLAPSED SHAFTS OCCUR ALONG THE BOTTOM OF THE TRENCH. NE OF MAIN SHAFT ARE SHALLOW PITS AND TRENCHES TRENDING N35E FOR APPOROXIMATELY 0.5 KM.
