Comments on the workings information

  • THE TUCK SHAFT LIES ABOUT 550 M SSW OF THE GLASSCOCK SHAFT, AND WAS REPORTED IN 1976 AS A 3M-DIAMITER FLOODED SHAFT WITH A LOW RIM DUMP. IN SEPTEMBER, 1987, THE SAFT IN THE FIELD HAS BEEN FILLED IN AND GRADED OVER SMOTH. ONLY SCATTERED PIECES OF COUNTRY ROCK REMAIN ON THE SURFACE.ABOUT 55M S80 DEG W OF THIS IS ANOTHER FLOODED SHAFT 5M IN DIAMETER WITH A 2M-HIGH RIM DUMP OF DARK GREEN GREENSTONE SCHIST. THE OLD GLASSCOCK SHAFT IS NOW FLOODED, 3M IN DIAMETER, AND HAS LITTLE MINERALIZATION AT ITS RIM DUMP. 2 DRIFTS WERE RUN FROM THE GLASSCOCK SHAFT AT A DEPTH OF 26.2M EXTENDING 15.2M S AND 6.1M NORTH AT THIS LEVEL. THE SHAFT WAS REPORTEDLY 61.9M DEEP (LANEY, 1917, P. 150).
